Happy Chinese New Year! It's the year of the Dragon and this portrait seemed entirely appropriate. This Dragon goes by many names but we affectionately call him...Dragon. 
Now, about Dragon. He is an ancient creature who demands your respect and I wish to convey not one drop of sarcasm when I say this. He holds knowledge as the most valuable thing that can be obtained and is always willing to pass on his vast amount...for a price. After all, he /is/ a dragon.
This was an incredible challenge with which we got to test out all sorts of different textures (scales, hair, fur, smoke, metal, polished wood etc.) It nearly killed our computer and took a crap load of time more than it was supposed to-but overall, we're pleased with the results.
The Chinese characters (from left to right) mean "A Life of Happiness and Prosperity" "Good Luck and Fortune" "Honor and Glory" and "Realize your Ambitions."
